WHAT IS PROPOLIS - FEEL GOOD SCIENCE
Propolis is a resin that bees create. It contains a mixture of bee saliva, beeswax, and substances from plants and trees.
HOW ITS USED AS A HERBAL REMEDY
Propolis is a resinous material produced by honey bees from plant exudates, has long been used in traditional herbal medicine and is widely consumed as a health aid and immune system booster.
THE BENEFITS OF PROPOLIS
Propolis and its extracts have numerous applications in treating various diseases due to its antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial, antimycotic, antifungal, antiulcer, anticancer, and immunomodulatory properties.
Researchers have identified more than 300 compounds in propolis. The majority of these compounds are forms of polyphenols. Polyphenols are antioxidants that fight disease and damage in the body.
Specifically, propolis contains the polyphenols called flavonoids. Flavonoids are produced in plants as a form of protection. They’re commonly found in foods thought to have antioxidant properties, including:
- fruits
- green tea
- vegetables
- red wine
IMMUNE SYSTEM
